This artworks solid shape, called the MFR has carved wings with what is called a DX tail and the Carbon Fiber showcases this boards appealing shape. The cross hatch fibrous strands pattern you see, is the carbon fiber "hence the name" and is the definition of functional beauty-perfect for this board. Carbon Fiber is a polymer and these filaments of carbon are from Australia, it is a very strong material that is also lightweight. Carbon fiber is five-times stronger than steel and twice as stiff. Though carbon fiber is stronger and stiffer than steel, it is lighter than steel. The board is shaped by Duke Aipa and is infused with the creative vision of Steve Adam. On this original artwork, Steve used the Carbon Fiber on the front to showcase the shape and he hand painted the back signed by the artist with a flawless high polish finish, fit with fin boxes.
